On August 9, Quito will host the XXI awards ceremony of the World Travel Awards 2014, internationally known as the “Oscar´s of the tourism industry”.
The Ecuadorian capital will dress in gala to be the scene of this great event, which will award the industry of tourism of South and Central America. It will be held in the emblematic Itchimbia Cultural Center and will allow the promotion of the country in different communication platforms.
"The selection of our hosts is fundamental to the success of our awards program and Quito has all the quality ingredients to accommodate Central and South America. Quito is a beautiful city full of ancient history, culture and a thriving global cuisine, "said Graham E. Cooke, president and founder of WTA in a press release.
In 2013 Quito won the prestigious award for Leading Destination in South America and was recognized as Lead Green Destination in the world. This year the country received a total of 21 nominations, including most important cultural destination in South America.
